1. Introduction
PrintShark (“we,” “our,” or “the application”) is a listing management and optimization tool for Etsy sellers. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our application.
2. Information We Collect
When you connect your Etsy shop to PrintShark, we access the following data through the Etsy Open API v3 with your explicit OAuth authorization:
- Shop information: Shop name, shop sections, and shop ID
- Listing data: Listing titles, descriptions, tags, images, pricing, inventory, and attributes for listings in your shop
- Public search data: Publicly available active listing search results used for market research
- Order data (optional): If, and only if, you
explicitly enable order fulfillment features and re-authorize with
the
transactions_rscope, we read receipt and order data needed to fulfill personalized orders
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Buyer personal information beyond what is required for fulfillment
- Payment information, bank details, or financial revenue data
- Buyer email addresses (we do not request the
buyer_emailfield) - Any data outside the API scopes you explicitly authorize
4. How We Use Your Information
Information accessed through the Etsy API is used exclusively to:
- Display and manage your listings within the PrintShark dashboard
- Create, update, and optimize listings on your behalf
- Organize your shop sections
- Monitor listing performance (views, favorites) to suggest improvements
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities
- Submit personalized orders for fulfillment via Printify (only when explicitly enabled)
5. Data Storage & Security
- Where data is stored: Application data, including shop settings, listing metadata and connected-account tokens, is stored on PrintShark’s own server, kept separately for each shop. It is not stored in shared third-party databases.
- OAuth tokens: OAuth tokens (Etsy, Pinterest, Meta) are stored securely and refreshed per each provider’s token lifecycle. Tokens are never transmitted to any third party.
- Encryption: Session cookies are cryptographically signed. All communication with the Etsy API occurs over HTTPS/TLS.
- Caching: The application caches Etsy API responses only for the durations permitted under the Etsy API Terms of Use, and refreshes them in accordance with API guidance.
6. Third-Party Services
PrintShark integrates with the following third-party services for product creation and fulfillment purposes:
- Printify: Used for print-on-demand product creation and fulfillment. Product data (designs, product specifications) is sent to Printify at the seller’s request.
- AI services (Google Gemini, OpenAI, FAL): Used to assist with image generation, design review, SEO, and listing content. No buyer data is sent to AI services — only creative prompts and seller-facing analysis tasks generated by the application.
- Pinterest (optional): When you connect a Pinterest account, PrintShark drafts a Pin for each of your Etsy listings and publishes only the Pins you review and approve, to the boards you choose, linking back to your Etsy listings. See Section 6b for full details.
- Meta — Facebook & Instagram (optional): When you connect via “Continue with Facebook,” PrintShark receives a user access token and the list of Facebook Pages (and any Instagram Business accounts linked to those Pages) that you choose to authorize. We use this access only to publish posts you initiate or schedule from within the application. See Section 6a for full details, including data deletion.
6a. Meta Platform Data — Facebook & Instagram
If you connect a Facebook or Instagram account, this section describes exactly what PrintShark accesses, how that data is stored, and how you can revoke or delete it.
What we access
- Your Facebook user ID and list of Pages
you manage — obtained via the
pages_show_listpermission. - The Page name, ID, profile picture, and Page access
token for each Page you choose to connect — via
pages_read_engagementandpages_manage_posts. - The ability to publish a first comment on the
posts we create on your own Page (we use this only to add your
Etsy link in a comment instead of the caption) — via
pages_manage_engagement. We do not comment on, or interact with, anyone else's posts. - For Instagram, the Instagram Business account ID,
username, name, and profile picture linked to any Page
you connect — via
instagram_basicandinstagram_content_publish. - We do not read your personal Facebook profile, friends list, messages, comments from other users, or any data outside the scopes you authorize.
How we use it
- To publish posts and photos to your selected Facebook Pages and Instagram Business accounts when you click “Post” in the dashboard or schedule a post in the scheduler.
- To display your connected Pages and Instagram accounts in the Settings screen so you can pick which destinations to post to.
- We do not use Meta-derived data for advertising targeting, analytics resale, or any purpose other than the posting features you trigger from within PrintShark.
How it’s stored
- The long-lived user access token, Page access tokens, and the Page/Instagram metadata above are stored alongside your other shop settings on the same infrastructure as the rest of your PrintShark data. All transit to and from Meta uses HTTPS/TLS.
- We retain this data only as long as you keep the connection active. The moment you disconnect (see below), the tokens and Page metadata are deleted from our storage.
How to revoke or delete
- Disconnect from inside PrintShark: Open Settings → Social Media and click “Disconnect.” PrintShark calls Meta to revoke the app grant on your behalf and deletes all Page/Instagram tokens and metadata locally.
- Disconnect from Facebook: Visit
Settings
& Privacy → Settings → Business Integrations
on Facebook and remove PrintShark. Meta will notify us via our
deauthorize callback (
/oauth/facebook/deauthorize) and we will delete your tokens and Page metadata automatically. - Request data deletion: To request full deletion
of all Meta-derived data we hold for your account, use Facebook’s
“Request Data Deletion” option in the same Business
Integrations screen, or email
ds9design@gmail.com.
Meta will deliver your request to our data-deletion callback
(
/oauth/facebook/data-deletion) which returns a confirmation code and a status URL where you can verify completion.
6b. Pinterest Platform Data
If you connect a Pinterest account, this section describes exactly what PrintShark accesses, how that data is stored, and how you can revoke or delete it.
What we access
- Your Pinterest username and account type, read
via the
user_accounts:readscope so Settings can show which account is connected. They are read live from Pinterest each time and are not saved. - The names of your boards, read via
boards:readso you can choose a board for each Pin. Read live each time, not saved. - The ability to create a board you name
(
boards:write) and to publish the Pins you approve (pins:write).pins:readis used only to check that a video Pin’s upload has finished processing. - We do not read your home feed, followers, other people’s Pins, your Pin analytics, or anything outside the scopes you authorize.
How we use it
- You choose every Pin. PrintShark drafts a Pin for each of your published Etsy listings (an image of your product, a title, a description and a link to the listing), written from your own listing data. Nothing is published to Pinterest until you review that specific Pin and click “Approve & schedule” or “Publish now”. You can edit the text and choose the board first, and you can withdraw an approval any time before the Pin goes out.
- Approved Pins are published at the time shown in your SocialShark calendar, or immediately if you click “Publish now”. A board is created only when you type a new board name for a Pin you approve.
- We do not sell or share information from Pinterest with anyone, use it for advertising, combine it with other users’ data, or use it to train or improve any AI model. The AI tools that draft your Pins work only from your Etsy listing data, never from Pinterest data.
What we store
- The OAuth access token and refresh token issued by Pinterest, stored on PrintShark’s server alongside the rest of your shop data. All transit to and from Pinterest uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Your Pin drafts and approvals (content PrintShark wrote for you), and the links of Pins published through PrintShark, so we can show them to you and avoid publishing the same listing twice.
- Access tokens are short-lived (~30 days) and refreshed automatically before expiry using the refresh token (~365 days). If Pinterest stops accepting them, PrintShark stops all Pinterest activity for your shop and asks you to reconnect.
How to revoke or delete
- Disconnect from inside PrintShark: Open Settings → Pinterest and click “Disconnect.” PrintShark immediately deletes the stored tokens and cancels any approved Pin that hasn’t been published yet.
- Remove the app from Pinterest: Visit Pinterest Settings → Apps and remove PrintShark. This revokes the grant on Pinterest’s side: PrintShark can no longer act on your account, stops all Pinterest activity for your shop, and asks you to reconnect. Disconnect inside PrintShark as well to delete the stored tokens right away.
- Request data deletion: To delete your Pin drafts and the record of Pins published through PrintShark, email ds9design@gmail.com from the email address on your PrintShark account. Pins already on Pinterest are yours, and you can delete them on Pinterest.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your Etsy, Pinterest or Meta data with any third parties for advertising, analytics, or any purpose outside the core functionality of the application.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
- Listing metadata is retained locally only as long as needed to provide optimization features.
- You can disconnect PrintShark at any time by revoking API access in your Etsy account settings — Apps & Permissions.
- Upon disconnection, no further API calls are made and locally stored shop data can be deleted by the seller or on request.
- To request deletion of any data we hold related to your shop, contact us at the email address below.
9. Your Rights
- You can revoke PrintShark’s access to your Etsy shop at any time.
- You can request deletion of any locally stored data related to your shop.
- You maintain full ownership and control of all your Etsy shop data.
10. Children’s Privacy
PrintShark is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used the Service, please contact us so we can remove the associated account and data.
